Health & Safety Officer
Donegal / Northwest | Multi-Site Role | Full-Time
Due to continued growth, Glebe Builders is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive safety professional with 4–5 years’ experience in the construction industry to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, healthcare and residential projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider project team to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and company procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out regular site inspections and health & safety audits across multiple projects.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.
- Support project teams in implementing company health and safety procedures.
- Prepare, review and monitor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with company and legislative requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records, inspections and audit reports.
- Provide practical advice and guidance to site teams on health and safety matters.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and external stakeholders where required.
- Keep up to date with current health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
Essential requirements for the ideal Candidate;
- 4–5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry.
- A relevant Health & Safety qualification.
- Good knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.
- Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Full clean driving licence.
