Health & Safety Manager
Donegal | Multi-Site Role | Full-Time
Glebe Builders are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to join our growing team. This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining high safety standards across multiple live construction projects and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage health & safety across multiple live construction sites
- Ensure full compliance with Irish H&S legislation, regulations, and company policies
- Carry out regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Follow up on site observations and ensure corrective actions are completed within required timeframes
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Work closely with site management and teams to maintain high safety standards across all projects
- Promote a practical, firm but fair approach to health & safety management
- Drive continuous improvement in health & safety performance and standards
- Prepare and maintain accurate H&S documentation and reports
Essential requirements for the ideal Candidate;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction sector
- Proven experience operating at H&S Manager level on active construction sites
- Relevant third-level qualification in Health & Safety / Environmental Health & Safety (Level 7/8 or higher)
- Strong working knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and construction site practices
- Comfortable carrying out audits, inspections, and follow-up actions across multiple sites
- Ability to communicate clearly and deal confidently with site teams and subcontractors
- A proactive and practical approach with the ability to be firm, consistent, and fair
- Strong organisational, reporting, and communication skills
- Full clean driving licence required
