Graduate QS/Placement QS Role
Graduates are invited to apply for the position of Graduate QS.
Graduate QS 18-24 months duration.
- Induction: an overview of company operations and the functioning of the wider organisation.
- Training & Development: on site, on-the-job learning.
- On-the-job Learning: through project rotation across the various business sectors that Glebe operates in.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare contract documents – e.g. bills of quantities.
- Working closely with and reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Estimate materials, time, and labour costs for the project.
- Negotiate and analyse costs for tenders and contracts.
- Manage Risk, Value and Cost Control.
- Liaising with the team to ensure requirements and specifications are met.
- Support in the preparation of accurate forecasts of project costs to completion and final value.
- Responsible for procuring sub-contracts and agreeing final accounts.
- Assisting the Senior QS to assist with the preparation of monthly internal valuations and monthly cost reports.
- Reporting on budgets and variations.
- Maintaining subcontractor and supplier contractual details.
Essential requirements for the ideal Candidate;
- A final year student or recent graduate from a bachelor’s degree or higher in Quantity Surveying
